Muse may lose points for borrowing too freely from their heroes, but the trio’s dark, complex sound, kick-ass musicality, and hook-laden songs combine to make Showbiz one of the more compelling rock records of the year.

Showbiz exhibits a remarkable maturity (amazing since these guys are barely out of their teens) and a genuinely effective attempt at musical diversity.
