The Wild Hunt

I may never pinpoint that one trait that makes The Wild Hunt an all-time classic in my mind. But when an album makes me feel this liberated, this empowered…this free, I don’t think there’s much point in trying.

If Shallow Grave had Matsson ready to jump, The Wild Hunt is a resolute plunge. But rather than being bummed, Matsson stays unabashedly confident throughout.

The Wild Hunt’s stumbles are too little to mask what could be Matsson’s finest hour. He may act as if he’s the tallest man on earth, but he may very well literally be a talent of Goliath proportions.
