Originally named ‘Horse’, though changed their name to ‘HORSE the band’ around 1999-07-06, after legal threats from the Scottish ‘[http://musicbrainz.org/artist/71eb886a-ed8f-4de8-989e-0d51c189ed39|Horse]’. They played their first show on 1999-05-27 at Bullstock 1999. Throughout 1999 and 2000, HORSE the band described themselves as “Nerdcore”. However, by late 2000, they began using the term “Nintendocore”, which they later eschewed by the mid–late-2000s.
