Formed as a splinter group by Bev Bevan in 1988 when Jeff Lynne disbanded the original Electric Light Orchestra. They started touring under the Electric Light Orchestra name until Jeff Lynne took them to court. The Part II was appended to the name as part of the court settlement. Jeff Lynne has since released new material (the Zoom album) under the Electric Light Orchestra name and they remain as two groups.
