One of the very talented saxophonist to emerge from and go beyond hard-bop, Mr ''Richardson'' was also a gifted multi-instrumentist. Somewhat underrated, he spent most of his career as a sideman, featuring along with (more) prestigious (and not necessarily more) talented artists like ''Adderley'', ''Quincy'', or ''Chico Hamilton'', and on a few historical sessions as well, noticeably with ''Charles Mingus''.
