José Luis Peña Regalado was born in [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Villa_Purificaci%C3%B3n|Villa Purificación municipality] (W) of Jalisco state. He started to learn music when he was ten years old and begun performing with Banda Purificación. He had been a member of Banda Zagal, Banda Puro Sinaloa, Banda Vallejos, and Banda Playa Grande de Mazatlán. He also performed as second voice and provided backing vocals for artists like Pancho Barraza Jr and Luis Alfonso Partida el Yaki.
