Our aim is to create exceptional recordings and performances. Our debut recording, Korngold’s Symphony in F sharp (September 2019), received glowing critical reviews and won BBC Music Magazine Award for orchestral music 2020. Our second record, Escales, French Orchestral Works (February 2020), received numerous plaudits on release in 2020 and rose to number 3 in the UK classical charts. Respighi's Roman Trilogy (July 2020) reached number 1 in the UK Specialist Classical charts and also won the BBC Music Magazine Award for orchestral music 2021. English Music for Strings (February 2021) received widespread 5 star reviews, and was selected as Presto Classical's Recording of the Week as well as Gramophone Magazine's Editor's Choice. Our latest release (June 2021) features Dutilleux - Le Loup, 'bewitchingly played and imaginatively directed'. (Financial Times) Both our Respighi record and English Music for Strings were shortlisted for a Gramophone Award 2021. The orchestra made its acclaimed live debut at the BBC Proms in September 2021.
