Heikki Annala was a Finnish (jazz) bass player, composer and arranger. He collaborated, among others, with [http://musicbrainz.org/artist/46999f59-7168-42c7-9206-b36811ffd054.html|Lasse Mårtenson] and [http://musicbrainz.org/artist/9210ba73-30da-4123-bc46-b49abf8c1b16.html|Herbert Katz]. During the 1970's and 1980's Annala worked on several finnhit albums, composing hits for performers such as [http://musicbrainz.org/artist/bb95faf3-cf13-4706-a61d-44ebfb0993b5.html|Matti Esko] and [http://musicbrainz.org/artist/0300cbd9-15cd-44ce-bdc9-2065cd51b946.html|Jamppa Tuominen]. Probably the best known composition by Annala was recorded by [http://musicbrainz.org/artist/3cc6c33e-4b45-4a66-8e07-95dd3da13494.html|Ahti Lampi] in 1980; "Elämän valttikortit" from is a perfect example of the pathetic nature of Finnish light music at that time.
