Nuevo Quinteto Real is the Argentine tango quintet that Horacio Salgán (piano) and Antonio Agri (violin) formed in 1987—in order to record a CD by special request in Japan—as a revival of the earlier [http://musicbrainz.org/artist/fecdc87d-7f70-4c22-b00c-0c0d6603aa35|Quinteto Real] (that was formed in 1960), along with Ubaldo de Lío (guitar, also previously from Quinteto Real), Leopoldo Federico (bandoneón, later replaced by Néstor Marconi), Omar Murtagh (double bass, later replaced by Oscar Giunta), and Julio Peressini later replacing Agri on the violin, the latter replacements all taking place in the 90s.
