Carl Jørgen Kiønig (born 9 March 1949) is a Norwegian stage instructor and musician. In his youth in Bærum, he formed the psychedelic rock group [artist:1a8e8e32-feec-4358-b096-68e958ffa3d5|Rain] together with guitarist/bassist Åsmund Fedje and keyboardist Knut Heljar Hagen. Kiønig played drums and percussion. After Hagen died, Kiønig and Fedje continued to make music, and have made music together for many radio theatres, often directed by Nils Nordberg, and for Kiønig's own theater performances and films. He has made productions for theatre, film, television and radio. He is particularly known for his productions of Sam Shepard's plays.[3] Together with Terje Rypdal, he created a new Norwegian musical Phantasma which mixed rock and Japanese/Asian myths. He grew up in Bærum and lives with actress Marianne Krogh.
