After featuring in a number of ''Paul and Carla Bley'' trios, ''Folwell'' made a few appearances with ''Ayler''. He also got involved in some Renaissance-rock bands, before he returned to LA, where he became "''Billy Superball, the magician, madcap, autoharp-and bass-playing bozo''" in ''The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo''. :p
