Menachem Beger, who was born in Istanbul in 1953 and repatriated to Israel at the age of 10 (brother of jazz saxophonist Albert Beger) - one of the most famous local rock vocalists of the 80s, began with underground rock bands. In 1976 - 1978 he was the vocalist of the lost treasure of Israeli rock, the group Gan Eden (Paradise). The 1993 compilation is closed by a number from their vinyl, which was released in small print and recently published on CD and vinyl in small print. Before his arrival, the group played covers in English, but on this album there are only songs in Hebrew with its lyrics. After the breakup, Beger performed in the rock musical "Tremp to Death" and began a solo career. He released 7 successful solo albums and one collection, and this is one of the few rockers who remained faithful to the style and did not go into overt pop music. Only in the 90s he recorded an album of cover versions of traditional Israeli songs, and in rock arrangements. Today he hardly speaks and lives off the counter with ready-made food in one of the Heder shopping centers.
