Ponty came up with the idea of including ''Experience'' - a wordplay, referencing the location and making the album "a Jean-Luc Ponty experience". They played at countless concerts, festivals and nightclubs and released a studio album in 1972. A recording of Jean-Luc Ponty's performance at the ''[https://musicbrainz.org/event/8259fbe4-b768-497e-8326-d4f7fc5aa0d3|Festival International de Jazz de Montreux]'' (with Kühn, Johnson, percussionist [https://musicbrainz.org/artist/e64fe830-fb77-462d-85d2-1d3265ae6ade|Naná Vasconcelos] and [https://musicbrainz.org/artist/537dcc0c-d804-45f4-aa3c-2184b7c6f6e7|J.-F. Jenny-Clark] on bass) was released in the same year as ''Jean-Luc Ponty «Experience»'' in quotation marks. Subsequent re-releases no longer mentioned the ''Experience'' and were released with [https://musicbrainz.org/artist/44cd4e2e-0a6a-4cd1-a2a7-e23d9f33df78|Jean-Luc Ponty] as album artist. At the end of 1972 the ''Experience'' was officially ended by Jean-Luc Ponty because he was planning to move to California.
