A gifted double bass player, Mr ''Paul Laurence Dunbar Chambers Jr.'' left us many fine contributions, either as sideman (''Miles Davis'', ''John Coltrane'', ''Wynton Kelly'', ''Sonny Rollins'', ...), or in his own sessions (mainly mid 50's ''Blue Note''). He contributed in introducing the use of bow in jazz bass play. Unfortunately, his taste for the booze took him at 33 years old. Curious people probably want to start with one of the ''Blue Note'', either ''Chambers Music'' or ''Whims of Chambers''.
