Wrathchild America were originally formed in 1978 under the name Atlantis. They changed their name to Tyrant in 1980, but a year later they changed their name to [http://musicbrainz.org/artist/2f700888-4ea9-45cd-8272-bbed5b212673|Wrathchild]. The band finally became Wratchild America after they signed to [http://musicbrainz.org/label/50c384a2-0b44-401b-b893-8181173339c7|Atlantic Records] in 1988 in order to avoid confusion with the [http://musicbrainz.org/artist/e08c1c82-390f-45c2-8315-518ca8716e5e|Wrathchild] from England. Wrathchild America lasted for approximately three years, spanning only two albums on Atlantic. After leaving the label, the band changed their name to [http://musicbrainz.org/artist/f7d73bc9-77ff-46f5-bd15-e763d3d1a440|Souls at Zero], who would release two albums before calling it quits in the mid-to-late 1990s.
